Let me embellish a little...

As a threshold matter, I don't believe these insurance policies control what one does with the money.

Regarding the main point, I think the disconnect you are sensing is caused by the fact that theatres are not fungible. There can be a lot of empty theatres but if you have a show languishing in one that the producer of what the landlord thinks is "the next Hamilton" wants, you will be kicked to the curb.

Also, timing is everything, and timing is often casting. Some shows can't move forward without certain people who are not just sitting and twiddling their thumbs waiting. And one more maxim: talk is cheap. Interviews keep you in the game for the time being but coming back is going to take a lot of time, and not everyone's optimistic talk is going to translate. The market is not going to support all of the shows within the next year.

Maybe this will help downgrade the severity of my psychosis in your mind. :-) [or not]
