Not to jump into an argument about age-appropriateness, but just to be clear, Lindsay is playing Moonface Martin, and Felicity Kendal is playing the mother of Hope Harcourt. The romantic leads (Billy and Hope) are younger performers.
Also, I saw Chita Rivera as Reno in the Papermill Playhouse production, and she was close to 70 (and fabulous). |
