Flight of fancy: if you were to meet Sondheim while walking around his neighborhood

what song of his, if you had the chutzpah, might you sing to him in appreciation? Just joking, but was thinking I might offer "You Could Drive a Person Crazy" in tribute to the effect his writing that song had on his neighbor Katharine Hepburn. No disrespect, but I think he might have a chuckle. Heck, even if you didn't have the guts, what could you imagine singing to him? This idea came to me as I was walking around his neighborhood.

(I have seen him walking around audition studios and never bothered him. I did meet him at a record signing years ago, and he was very nice. No, I didn't sing to him!) :)

Even though I've performed dozens of Sondheim songs, I would never BEGIN to have had the courage to actually sing in front of the guy.

And the one time I did meet Mr. Sondheim, I don't think I croaked out anything more than "it's a gigantic honor to meet you."

I'd ask him "Have you heard 'W.A.P.'?" n/m

I feel like I had a bad dream, woke up, fell back asleep, and had it again. :-)

Very cute.
