Some of the one-liners in "You're Nothing" are truly wonderful - like "I tell you you're out of my mind" or "I'm your private dic-tator" etc. But in "You Can Always Count On Me" and "It Needs Work" there are particular whole chains of wordplay that just astound me.

In the former:

"When i can play the second fiddle I'm a virtuoso.
I should be playing for a wedding band.
But there're no wedding rings attached,
Though you can bet there're strings attached."

In the latter:
"And come to think of it
Your writing always mirrors our relationship
With dangers cropping up
And sweet young strangers popping up like weeds.
So if you wish official pardoning
You better do a little gardening.
Ya know ya needn't be so gen'rous with your seeds.
Your fertile lies don't fertilize.
It needs work."

Just amazing.

Also, not to forget that "You Can Always Count On Me" contains an even bigger surprise - the first refrain is sung by Oolie, and there's a blackout on her getting into bed. The next scene opens with Stine in bed next to a woman, who turns out to be Donna (!!), who continues the rest of the song after a bit of a dialogue scene with Stine. Perfection (and a guaranteed laugh moment as well). :-)
