Yes, pretty much any workplace safety protocols that we have - including such frivolities as the 8 hour work day and the weekend - are courtesy of labor unions who have stepped in when governments have not been concerned with the health of workers (as we are still seeing in the case of Amazon, where workers are regularly peeing into bottles because they are forbidden bathroom breaks, another one of those perks that unions have fought for).
And, of course, the governments on both sides of the pond have shown gross negligence when it has come to health and safety with this pandemic. To suggest that Equity should let the U.S. government listen to science is basically a practical joke, when we consider who the President was for all of last year. |
