I hadn't forgotten that scene with the pastries and the canary, and I assumed that's what the press release that AP copied meant when they talked about Higgins "not feeding" Eliza. It is as impossible for a rational adult to confuse that would-be comic tidbit with a concerted plan to deny Eliza food as it is to confuse the would-be comic bit about Eliza accidentally (and clearly quite harmlessly) swallowing a marble with some sort of misogynistic oral torture by marbles. It is equally impossible for any rational adult to confuse either of these moments with "physical and psychological abuse." So the press release is lying about the content of the movie and damaging reputations in order to create a bogus "controversy" and stoke poutrage.
