I've got to say regarding some of these comments that I wished we spent a fraction of the care on talking about jobs, unions and housing that many of us spend on talking about race and gender. I'm not saying that this is an either or choice but I think it's telling how unbalanced these two conversations are. The rush of blood unleashed when just mentioning possible gains for entertainment unions reveals that many people who are awake to the fact that the country has split into two political sides still aren't ready to acknowledge that the right to organize and collectively bargain is now inseparably on one of those sides. I personally wish that wasn't the case, I wish our national politics was less bifurcated and I think unions are by no means a perfect solution (many have a history of racism and mob cronyism and then there's always the police unions) but it's now necessary, along with white nationalism, gender and race, to choose a side regarding the right to organize and collectively bargain.
