And I'll admit, there are definitely times where I get frustrated by the stagehands union, but when they are being attacked by someone who is in the moneyed/producer class, I'm going to defend them because that is the binary that we find ourselves locked into.
I agree.
I just had a conversation with a friend about this and she pointed out that many union members in swing states voted for Trump. This is a constituency that the Democratic Party is trying to win back. But I guess it weakens my point about having to make a choice since these swing state union members clearly thought they could choose Trump and unions at the same time... same thing with the leadership of the NYC Patrolman's and Lieutenant's Beneovolent Assocations, two unions whose leadership are zealously pro-Trump. |
