The “mystery” George mentions is, I think, the identity of the unknown “Knight of the Laughing Tree,” who makes a stunning victory at the Tourney. But there’s a ton of stuff that happens in those ten days of the Tourney to fill a script, from the weakened king’s appearance (were the nobles and Prince Rhaegar gathering to plan his removal?), to young Jaime’s induction into the Kingsguard, and, of course, the scandalous events that will lead to Robert’s Rebellion.
