I think shows used to close before the movie was released—of course shows didn’t last for decades The release of movie or taping of show doesn’t seem to hurt the live show and can help ticket sales due to exposure. I doubt Hamilton on Disney will cause ticket sales to slump. The movie Chicago almost 20 years ago didn’t close the revival. I have a feeling that the Netflix deal had something to do with the reopening of the
Show. It was originally March showing when broadway was closed until June. So that opening moved to December so I assume the Netflix showing was scheduled to match that. I would think the prom on Netflix would kill the tour but it is still moving forward. I don’t understand it, but it seems to work.
