| Many of these “flaws” you point out are artistic decisions. You would have made different choices had you staged it. Included more dancing, for instance. At close to 3 hours, they decided against it. As for ending, the show was already a classic, how else would they end it? I certainly agree that the dubbing could have been handled better. If it had been made clear to Hepburn that she wouldn’t be singing, she and Nixon could have worked together ( as Nixon did with Deborah Kerr). |
