Insurers Snub Broadway Shows To Create Uneven Playing Field
Posted by: pecansforall 12:12 am EDT 04/01/21

From Forbes:
Earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic, it was reported that several Broadway shows secured large payouts through their insurance policies. The producers of Company received a check for $8.5 million, for example, and the producers of Caroline, or Change received a check for $5 million. The production companies behind Hadestown, Dear Evan Hansen, Girl from the North Country, and Come From Away also collected some cash from their insurance companies.
Link Yet, although all Broadway shows had insurance policies, not all of them were provided a lifeline during the pandemic.
