There's always Broadway magic and ingenuity. They managed to write in a terrific chorus with a show-stopping number from the two-character TWO FOR THE SEESAW. PRETTY WOMAN went through so many incarnations in movie development that it's a wonder they found something to musicalize. All of the substance in the original script was replaced by 'gloss' in the final film......not much there to create musical magic. The popularity of the film ensured an audience which eventually dissipated. I do see MOONSTRUCK working in the right hands.
