| I was so happy in a thread below to discover, courtesy of Wayman, that footage of Betty Garrett doing "South America, Take It Away" existed. Did Swenson perhaps do his highly-lauded Bob Fosse-choreographed number on tv at some point? | |

| I was fortunate to have seen the iriginal production of "Little Me" and I loved the show and especially Swen's dance number. Years later I saw it done on TV by none other than Rudolph Nueyev ! The young women in the audience were quite taken by this sexy dance and screamed their heads off with every erotic gesture ! |

| There is a substantial clip of Sid Caesar, Virginia Martin, Nancy Andrews, and the cast of Little Me doing the scene and song "Deep Down Inside" from The Ed Sullivan Show on various websites. | |

| Thanks -- I'll check that out, though I may have seen it some years ago. But the "I've Got Your Number" was singled out by many as the big showstopper from the show. Perhaps the fact that it was done as a male striptease precluded it from being televised back then? But I don't think he took off much or nearly any clothing, so I don't think it was too risque, although it was supposed to have been very sexy indeed. I'm still hoping it exists and that someone can find it though, as I never thought I'd see the Betty Garrett "South America" or the Gwen Verdon " 'Erbie FItch's Twitch" or "I Feel Merely Marvelous" from "Redhead" until they surfaced. | |

| I saw the '98 production with Michael Park as Lucky. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but Park may have gotten down to his boxers and socks. Years later, I was actually seated next to Park at a Monday evening performance of Groundhog Day at the August Wilson. He was there with a number of the actors from Dear Evan Hansen. As three of the young actors sauntered over to their seats, they all said hello to us and addressed me by my name. Park asked me "How in hell do you know all these kids?" I told him "It's a long story, and they are not exactly kids." To which Park replied, "Don't tell me you're the guy who invited them to his apartment for lunch, told them all these stories about your baseball team, and got them all drunk." "Not exactly" was my answer. "That was my friend and his wife, but I was there too and the baseball stories were mine. Actually he invited one of the guys and his girlfriend but told them it was OK to bring a couple of friends, who ended up being the other two. I swear none of them had more than 2 beers." The one guy's girlfriend (I believe) had a glass of white wine. My friend's wife actually had a catered lunch for all of us. The two of them are well known patrons of the arts and generous supporters of York Theatre, Irish Rep, and possibly other off-Broadway theatres. |

| Well, except that that isn't Swen Swenson and he's not doing the Fosse choreography. Other than that, that's it exactly! : ) | |

| The link above it has Swenson only singing and this one had the dancing so I assumed it was him. That explains why I wasn’t impressed by the fosse dancing. | |

| Thanks, dramedy, but that's not Swen Swenson dancing; his classic audio is heard, however. But it's another dancer performing, and not to the Fosse choreography, which I am seeking. | |

| Your post reminded me of a bizarre casting switch back in the day. The summer "Music Fair" circuit on the East Coast often included a mix of original stars and others in recent and not so recent musicals. I specifically recall Swen Swenson coming through as the lead in Pal Joey. (I believe Vera was played by Dorothy Lamour). What was odd was that when Little Me came through in 1964 (I can't recall if it was the same season or not), Swen Swenson's part was played by Harold Lang, who of course had played Joey in the Broadway revival. | |

| But of course Harold Lang was a superb dancer with a very good singing voice which would suit that supporting role with his one great number in "Little Me" rather than being cast as the star who plays many different types of character roles in that musical. There's a video of Lang singing and dancing to one of his numbers in "Pal Joey". I don't know if this scenario about being in the zoo was in the revival (his pick-up of the girl is traditionally in front of a pet shop window with no kids around); however, his dancing in this clip is a marvel to behold. | |

| I miss the video of Lang performing Happy Little Hunting Horn with the staging and the cast of Pal Joey. It used to be on Blue Gobo but has disappeared. | |

| In the short lived 1982 revival Don Correia performed "I've Got Your Number" as a very hot strip tease slowly revealing his furry chest under his Tony Walton designed costume... | |
