you may have already realized the error of your ways, but I'll just add two comments. First, what's ridiculous is that everyone in this country does not automatically have health insurance as in every other civilized country in the world. Second, this is not about "getting sick," it is about workplace injury. It is not a radical idea that when your health is compromised at work, your employer pays. Even the lowliest bodega has workers' comp insurance. What were you thinking?

If they don’t have to pay for employee health insurance. You know that Congress won’t charge them for the savings they will benefit by having gov pay for universal health care. And corporations won’t give that money saved directly to their employees.

It's equally plausible this would go in line with tax hikes on corporations. The new administration is doing what it can to make the reality where multinationals are required to pay their fair share of taxes.

And I think this in an on-topic thought because the economics of big business are also the economics of theater, and our theatrical culture would be radically different if it wasn't reliant on the largesse of the rich and very rich.

And there's a straight line from that to the endless complaining on this board about how a Broadway has turned into a theme park by the same people who espouse the economic gospel that made it a theme park.

So I'm not a moderator, but I think we're taking about this in good faith within a theater context.

this is not the place to flesh this out, but that is not the dynamic.

"First, what's ridiculous is that everyone in this country does not automatically have health insurance as in every other civilized country in the world."

Hear hear! This is also, I think, one reason why producing theater in the West End is significantly cheaper than in the US.
