Aaron Michael Ray is the host of “Conversations From Away,” a podcast where we encourage a dialogue about systemic racism, police brutality, Black Lives Matter, and how that affects the Broadway industry. In each episode, we get out of our comfort zones with a panel of special guests to discuss topics that pertain to race in and outside of our industry as a means to learn and grow together.
Aaron is currently a cast member in the National Tour of Come From Away. His Off-Broadway credits include: The Low Road (The Public Theater), and Spamilton. Originally from San Antonio, Texas he graduated from Berklee College of Music then received an MFA from The Boston Conservatory.
The Tony and Olivier-Award-winning musical COME FROM AWAY tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
On September 11, 2001 the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all.
