I saw it. I really like him and the early career stories were interesting, but I found it painful to hear him try to sing those songs especially knowing the cast albums so well. I’m not a fan of concerts so I’m not the best judge.
And I dislike monologues that use the framing I wasn’t going to talk about this but I will now” like it isn’t planned. It’s a scripted show don’t try to make the audience think you are off script to reveal something. Liza does that in concert singing her moms rainbow song. Audiences aren’t stupid. |
