I wonder how you could make such an assumption about me. Nothing I wrote supports it.

My point was simply that branding something "toxic" doesn't make it so and doesn't solve any of the inherent problems. People want to be in theatre, publishing, politics because they are exciting, rewarding professions, not the day labor that many are condemned to. So naturally there is great competition in these fields. If you wind up with a nasty boss you have two options: complain to management about it, or figure a way around him or her. I'd venture to say that the smart people, the ones who rise to the top, figure a way around the nasty boss, which may mean years of working for an ogre, but them's the breaks.

I wasn't saying I got mine, now go get yours. How could you have been so foolish?
