| Ambassador may be last to fill, but it is still an 1,100 seat house that is ammenable to both plays and musicals, and we regularly see shows waiting for a theater that never opens. I remember when The Cort and The Longacre were looked down upon as lesser houses, and yet they are booked pretty much every season. As a business, "Chicago" is making The Shuberts good money, sure, but for us audience members, that's a whole bunch of plays and musicals that haven't made it to Broadway. |
