| The fly in the ointment is that these shows have to make their nut, and with what you are describing that is not going to make that happen. I also think you are underestimating the reach of your nostalgia. I do think some ideas will need to be tried but I think the bottom line is that we will have to wait patiently for some of these shows to come back later, if at all. I think the key for the reopening phase is to limit supply so that the natural demand will fill it, not to flood the market with losers. I think there is a lot of sentiment/demand for something new(ish) and good, not the evergreens. There is a concern that bringing back the evergreens will just depress a lot of potential theatregoers, bearing in mind particularly that the tourist market is going to take time. |
