as I said earlier, I don't necessarily think we need to focus on "these works" because it might've been (and probably would've been) others instead. Also, because we are being asked to reexamine the paradigms within which we make theatre for reasons that have to do with Rudin only tangentially, maybe/hopefully our post-hoc appraisal will be much broader. I asked if we needed more non-profit theatre on Broadway. What about more POC-run theatre? Do we need more POC directors? Of course. Producers? Of course. What about landlords? Hmmm. How does post-hoc Rudin fit into that discussion? I am not sure, but what I do know is that he hasn't exactly championed POC representation in his shows. In fact, the most notable example is one in which a lot of people find those representations offensive. There is a lot on the table right now and the more we try to figure out how it might fit together, Rudin becomes more of a housekeeping issue than anything more. I think. :-)
