And I'm saying that I'm sorry but I think that's short-sighted. No, we don't know if other producers would have stepped up to many of the things Rudin took chances on. But I can just ask you to name the other commercial producers who currently and in the time Rudin's been doing Broadway who actually produce, produce often, and produce risky or daring material. Because unless you're assuming someone is stepping in who wants to produce broadway shows and was just waiting for "space" to be made, which isn't reality, then you must be assuming someone who produces theater would have taken them on. So, who? But also, what else have they been producing? If they wanted to take on those projects but lost them to Rudin, then what were they producing instead or before or after? Where are these non-non-profit producers you're talking about with the cred, resources, taste and passion to get so many excellent theatrical ventures on broadway?
Even if you don't or can't name them, I hope they step up.
