I agree totally with the last paragraph :-)

To add (with no can opener on the premises), the reason I agree with your last paragraph is because none of this really requires resolution now or maybe at all. Without regard to the substance of any of it, I think you will agree (unless you legit don't know regarding any of it) that these are things that some have been said. And that's my point. As has always been the case, there is always new material and new opportunities so (not to repeat myself) we need not pause long mourning the loss of Rudin. I'll add that I think the summer of '20 through the present represents a shift in our attention in the same way as, say the late 60s-early 70s did in relation to politics/war and the late 70s-80s did in terms of AIDS/gay culture. To be continued some day.
