Over the years I have bumped into 3 very well known politicians at various Broadway or off-Broadway shows. Ed Koch in Mar., 2003 at the Public for Radiant Baby was the first. He was seated in the row in front of me. He actually chatted with me and the lady seated to my left before the show and at intermission.

I ran into Michael Bloomberg and his wife at a performance of the recent revival of Hello, Dolly! in the lower level of the Shubert. I talked with him about the production for a bit and then his wife joined us and we continued the conversation. We were off in a little corner. I'm not sure anyone else even recognized him.

I also encountered Chuck Schumer once, but I don't recall the show or the theater. I think we chatted a bit about the current political situation. It might have been at the Booth for Meteor Shower, but I'm not certain of that.
