should you cast an incredibly talented 75-year-old as Lili in a production of CARNIVAL in which everyone else was cast traditionally in terms of age?
If it's an opera company, and the 75-year old is a famous diva, than yes. :-) (I'm not saying it's right to do, just that it's more feasible in opera, where a 50-year old white soprano can still play Cio-Cio-San...)
