|Eva Noblezada, the star of the latest Broadway revival, who was plucked from high school to play the leading role in both the London and NY productions thinks so. Her tweet “WE’RE NOT GOING BACK TO MISS SAIGON” (caps hers) says it all.
I’ll be curious to see if other Kims (including Lea Salonga) will weigh in. It definitely presents Asian characters in a stereotypically sexualized way, and it was written by a bunch of white dudes. So I get it.
But should Miss Saigon never again be produced?
