National Theatre's Romeo & Juliet - breathtaking.  Constant PBS promos - infuriating.

The edits made it swift and compelling.  I especially enjoyed switching lines so Lady Capulet was the key role instead of the Lord.  It changed the tension.

Josh O'Connor and Jessie Buckley were stunning and created complete characters.  The dance, balcony scene, wedding, wedding night and tomb scene were all captivating.  The nurse and friar are tough, but critical roles.  And, they were beautifully done.  The Queen Mab speech was magical.

A glorious evening interrupted by PBS's constant self-promotion.  Pushing some hashtag about PBS and the arts.  Then, frequent promos of upcoming shows.  Maybe four lines of bold text taking up so much of the screen.   Embarrassing.
