|I'm a wee bit surprised at how much Spielberg seems to have maintained so many of the film's iconic images.
Or, perhaps, how many of those images showed up in this trailer. It was clearly intentional to save that image of a fire escape, Maria in her white dress, and Tony gazing up for the final shot of the trailer.
But I'll be very curious to see where he really departs. I do hope he's bold and makes some courageous choices. The material deserves it.
But I do have to say how happy I am with the poster. That's an area where I really don't want a bold difference; I'm glad that Fox went with something that hews close to Saul Bass's design aesthetic.
