I guess that's where we differ - I'm not really interested in hearing about Daniel Kaluuya's parents having sex. I think Thomas Vinterburg's speech would have been much more powerful if he started off with the story about his daughter - I'd lost interest after his LONG laundry list of names. And I wouldn't consider Youn Yuh-jung's speech a long sprawling stream of consciousness - it was witty and engaging.
And I don't agree that the in memoriam was "bound" to be fast. That was a choice made by the producers. It didn't HAVE to fly by so quickly
