So ... the big problem is that Broadway only works, longer term, with tourists. A lot of red state people help fill up theatres and keep our industry afloat. I dont see them signing up for a NY Passport - and their states wont require them. Yes, we can say, then they can stay home. But then Broadway will not make the $ it needs at the box office.

If we reach 'herd immunity' - somewhere between 70-80% vaccinated in the US, then none of this is necessary. Though, sadly, we are now hearing of people who just get the first jab and then say - that's enough, I'm protected. In the UK they are looking at an app based vacc passport type thing - but it can give you access to a live event under a series of conditions"

Fully Vaccinated
Antibody Test positive
Covid Test negative within 48 hours

In any event, New Yorkers are one thing, but across America the idea of any kind of Covid passport is anathema, and wont happen.

And - CNN medical expert? - thats not where I get my advice from.

My two cents.
