|Some of these threads have gotten incredibly political. All, including you, of course, are free to post what you want, within the guideposts of the moderators. But generally something you might now deem to have been a bit silly might be and was, picked up by those who don't really have a sense of humor, or at the very least, see an opening to push their agenda. They haven't responded here, thus far, since perhaps having "Ethel Merman" in the heading doesn't relate to the here and now. Fine by me, as I personally try to tune them out, same as I would some editorial writer who has a bias or viewpoint that I know from having read before that I know it's not worth it to me to read. Life's too short -- I'd rather read some of the other well-informed persons here whose intention appear to be more to share their knowledge in a positive way rather than to shake things up. Not that I'm against reading different opinions, and I have and I do, but with some of these other thread hijackers, their methods and messages are just a bombardment and aggressive pushing of an agenda they try to repeatedly upholster the thread with when they see an opportunity.
No worries about the Gene Nelson thread posting, Tony. It's not your usual modus operandis anyway. But as I looked at some of the threads without clicking on most of them within recent weeks, I stayed away from posting, as I saw some of those folks duking it out. I just e-mailed my Congressman about an issue and have made phone calls, etc. They have power to get bills passed. The ATC gene pool is some of the same people. If they have information about theater and they seem good-natured and knowledgeable, I'll click and maybe respond if I have something to add. I certainly appreciate them and their efforts. But as I've said in person to folks who've tried to convert me regarding religion or politics in the past, "the only person I want to proselytize me is Pros-cilla Presley!" :)
