I think Lehman made a lot of good, intelligent choices. He can’t be blamed for the censorship of early sixties Hollywood, but his additions and shuffling order made sense, even if Arthur called him a hack.

As—I suspect—most of use here, I have a deep love for the 1961 movie version. But there are enough things wrong with it (the censorship, the dubbing, Richard Beymer’s wooden performance), I’m willing to see what a big budget remake looks like.

Now, if they start talking about remaking SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, that’s a whole ‘nother matter.
