In one of the documentaries on WEST SIDE STORY, there's an interview with Moreno where she talks about having her singing in the movie partly dubbed by Betty Wand. Apparently, it's Wand's voice we hear in "A Boy Like That," because it was too low for Moreno. In the documentary, Moreno complains that if she had sung that part of the song herself, she would have really growled and spat out those lines in order to communicate Anita's fierce emotions after the murder of her lover. Then the documentary runs a clip of that moment -- and Wand sings it exactly the way Moreno says she herself would have sung it. I've always found this a very strange moment of self delusion in the documentary.
