My personal takes on this, ASIDE from the controversy of Jackson the pedophile:
1) I really have no desire to see any more jukebox musicals (particularly the ones that attempt to tell the life story of the star through their music). Even though like many theatre people at this juncture, I do want to be very supportive of ALL theatre coming back -- but I'm really tired of the jukebox thing, even though I'm sure we haven't seen the end of them by far. So it's not a show that holds much interest for me at all.
2) I once had the pleasure of working briefly with Michael R. Jackson, most recently known as the composer/lyricist/bookwriter for A Strange Loop. I would love to see more of HIS work produced in high profile ways. I am sure we will in the future. But if I had to make the choice, that's the Michael Jackson I would buy tickets for.
