Did anyone else notice that the Remick's password to Sondheim for the word squirm was "wriggle"?
Giggling, wriggling out of our tights.
Chattering and clattering down all of those flights.
When it comes to that lyric many assume that it is "wiggling". The words almost mean the same thing but of course Sondheim is the genius so I'll bet he choose wriggling because to the ear it neatly associates itself with the word clattering. Needed that letter r.
At the time of this episode of Password he said that he was working on "The Girls Upstairs" (later named "Follies").
