| Generally speaking, upfront costs (to open or reopen) are less and the running costs are less. Consequently, while many shows would lose at that capacity, the losses would perhaps not be as deadly. And perhaps not as long. The reopening market is likely more predictable whereas on Broadway a lot of people are not convinced that there will be sustained audiences regardless of capacity for the sort of shows scheduled once we get to fall and especially winter. We shall see on that but in terms of sustainable losses I think the calculus is different. |
