The wikpedia listing breaks it down.
Reportedly, the original Broadway show had a very well-crafted book, but the film skewed the focus more toward rising star Ann-Margret, who played the teen-aged Kim, so it’s lumpy. The ersatz central plot of Spanish Rose triumphing over Albert’s mother’s prejudice and ultimately marrying him doesn’t have much strength n the movie, and the « hispanic » nature of Janet Leigh, who played Rosie, seems odd. Plus songs have been re-ordered and dropped. Ann-Margret’s work and persona are quite compelling.
