I appreciate all the responses and even though I am usually up for good, clean, wholesome fun, for some reason the film of BBB doesn't do it for me. Maybe if I'd seen it at an impressionable age I would have developed an attachment? (To be honest, I wasn't over the moon about the Roundabout revival with John Stamos either.)
For me, nobody looks like they are having much fun. And also Bobby Rydell was more appealing than Jesse Pearson, being an actual teen idol (although a different type than the Elvis template).
