I think that if Miranda played Usnavi, the box office would have been higher, although it may not have made that much of a difference. I know the text says he is around 29, but I don't think that there's a compelling story-based reason why he couldn't be older. And Miranda could certainly play a 29-year-old without raising too many eyebrows.
Speaking of Usnavi, apparently his last name is de la Vega in the movie. Did he have a last name in the stage musical? I don't remember anyone having a last name in the stage show except the Rosarios. Vanessa also has a last name in the movie -- Morales. |
