Skylar Astin hopes to make the pop 'Playlist' as a 'Pitch Perfect' songwriter

Skylar Astin, a ''Spring Awakening'' alum, has unveiled his debut single, ''Without You,'' which is his own tune (not the song from ''Rent''). I first saw him play Georg in the 2006 Duncan Sheik musical, and he performed in our 2008 ''Leading Man III'' concert for Broadway Cares. It's been fun to watch him as grow as a leading man on film (''Pitch Perfect'') and TV (''Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist'') and now as a songwriter.
