I forgot about The Producers and Rock of Ages, both of which also received film versions that tanked at the box office. Unlike In the Heights, these films, which failed commercially, received mostly negative or mixed reviews. Nevertheless, I enjoyed all of them and was glad they were made, although I must admit they did have flaws.
I do remember talk in 2008 about Universal making a film version of Heights with Miranda and Lopez. Were they thinking of J-Lo as Camila or Daniela? I think she would have been a little too mature back then to play Vanessa. |
