| Playbill Pride Celebrations Continue with The Progress of Pride Streaming on Playbill.com June 26 (June 25, 2021 - New York, NY) Throughout Pride Month 2021, Playbill Pride has kept the celebrations coming. Culminating Playbill's 2021 Pride celebration is The Progress of Pride Spectacular, premiering on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on Playbill.com. Presented by Nissan, Progress of Pride is a virtual gathering to reflect upon and celebrate the history of Pride while acknowledging the continued fight for education, equality, equity, visibility and diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community. The Progress of Pride Spectacular will be hosted by Lea DeLaria (On the Town, "Orange is the New Black") and will feature performances by DeLaria with Helen Sung on piano and Dylan Shamat on bass, as well as BD Wong (M. Butterfly, Jurassic World), L Morgan Lee (A Strange Loop, The Danish Girl) and Alex Newell (Once on This Island, "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"). Storytellers include Anthony Rapp (If/Then, "Star Trek: Discovery"), Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom, Bridges of Madison County), Max Crumm (Disaster!, Emojiland) and Peppermint (Head Over Heels, "RuPaul's Drag Race"), with special appearances by Blake Hammond (Living On Love), Brad Bradley (Billy Elliot), Cherie B. Tay ( Hadestown), Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Claybourne Elder (Company), Eric Ulloa (On Your Feet!), Harvey Fierstein (Torch Song Trilogy, Hairspray ), J. Cameron Barnett (FX's "Pose"), Jenn Colella (Come From Away), Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Hairspray, Legally Blonde), Kathryn Gallagher (Jagged Little Pill), Mars Rucker (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), Nathan Lee Graham (The Wild Party, Zoolander), and Vishal Vaidya (Groundhog Day). Heritage of Pride team members David Correa (Interim Executive Director), Sue Doster (Co-Chair) and Kazz Alexander (Community Relations Director) will also appear. The 65-minute celebration will stream on Playbill.com and Playbill's YouTube channel. Proceeds go to benefit Heritage of Pride (Pride NYC). The Progress of Pride Spectacular is executive produced by Executive Director Bryan Campione and Leonard Rodino. John McDaniel is the Music Director/Producer and Robert Araujo is the Director of Video Production of Progress of Pride, which feature music editing/mixing by Michael Croiter, additional videography by Dan Shein, video editing by Beatriz Bajuelos and art design by Dean Greer.
