| Some are, some aren't. We may get some press releases on the former group, but of course not on the latter. We will have to rely on the usual detective work: gossip, discounts, availability, etc. Once the shows start up, we also will not have an official guidance since there will be no grosses reported. We can still rely on gossip, word of mouth, discounts, tkts, tdf, paper, etc etc. My guess is we will see strong advances out of the gate for most if not all shows, but then a mixed bag in terms of sustainability. It's no secret that I think we have way too many shows opening way too quickly so a closed show obviously "can" be brought back. How dumb that idea is will require hindsight. (I am also not oblivious to the extent that grants and stimuli are driving some of this.) Oh and Waitress coming back is about filming, so how it fares would be controlled by how well it does streaming or whatever. I also think this particular concept will go out of favor as quickly as it came in. In general, I am optimistic and pessimistic at the same time. |
