We'll find out once the show opens, but I don't think that the time frame of the action onstage would mean that any songs after that time are excluded. I would expect that there will be some songs that are not diegetic, and they can be from any time frame. In particular, I would be surprised if "Man in the Mirror" does not make it into the show. It's still played on the radio, and after Jackson passed away, it was the #2 selling song by him the following week. ("Thriller" was #1 and Billie Jean was #3, but they were all very close to each other.)
"The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Smooth Criminal" are two other songs are are still on the radio, and I would expect them to be in the show as well. |
