Are we meant to assume that all the other men and some of the women, at least, are gay, do you think? I'm not so sure.
I hate to say this, but maybe, in the minds of some people who are commenting here, the sexuality of the women doesn't matter. If it DOES matter (and of course I think it does), then it's even more inaccurate to describe gayness as "the default" for ACL.
Maybe, but it ultimately doesn't matter since sexuality doesn't play into any of the other characters' stories.
Yet another reason why labeling A CHORUS LINE as "a gay musical" is a huge stretch to make a point. |
