So you don't support cancel culture, but you won't go see "MJ" because you don't want to give his estate your money, which is another way of saying you've cancelled him. The question raised here initially wasn't whether Rashad should stop working altogether, but whether she'd still be in the MTC's show. And MTC has to be aware of reactions like yours when they choose their next step.

MTC can't cancel Rashad, but if they feel that she's not going to sell the amount of tickets that they expect her to, then they are within their rights to fire her and look for another actress. It's no different than you not wanting to pay money to support the Jackson estate.

As for Hammer, I think you haven't read enough of the story, because there's more than just private messages related to his fetish. Whether what has been alleged is enough to stop supporting him is up to each person, but many folks who understand kink are less forgiving when it comes to the other allegations that have been made against him.
