In terms of the theater, there's nowhere to hide, but also there are all kinds of people who are disliked by the rest of the cast but they all make it work on stage. So I don't think that's necessarily a factor here.
I do fully agree with you that this is a much bigger issue for Howard than for MTC. I'm trying my best to talk about this in hypotheticals, because I don't know that she's actually going to turn off enough ticket buyers to warrant her removal, and I think it's just as likely that the older, more conservative MTC base would be more upset if she didn't stay with the show, such is the power of the Cancel Phantom. At the very least, she needs to do some restorative justice sessions on this in order to keep her credibility with the students. |
