"MTC can't cancel Rashad, but if they feel that she's not going to sell the amount of tickets that they expect her to, then they are within their rights to fire her and look for another actress."

Would it be within their legal rights to do this? Maybe I'm ignorant, but I would be surprised if this is a reason that would be accepted in court if they did fire her and she chose to take it there. And what would Equity say? It might be a conundrum for them, but I doubt Equity would want to set a precedent by agreeing that a producer or company has the right to fire an actress because the producer or company no longer believes that they can sell tickets on that actress's name.
