Just wanted to say that this is very true. I can think of 2 cases off the top of my head where a performer has left a show, not strictly of their own free will. They got to spin their departure narrative, though, and got a fat payoff. TPTB didn't have to come off looking like a bad guy. It's a smoother public look and everyone saves face.
I never heard a whisper of the true reasons for the performers' departures in either case in public, ever. Not even as an open secret.
