As I understand it, the producers of THE GREAT COMET certainly did not "fire" that actor. First of all, the actor was apparently not ready to go into the show when he was supposed to, apparently through his own inability or lack of sufficient preparation. So his start date with the show was delayed, and in the interim, the plan arose to put Mandy Patinkin into the show for three weeks, during which time the other actor would ALSO be paid as if he had started when he was supposed to.

Do you have contrary information about what happened? If not, I'm surprised at you for describing all this as a case of that other actor being "fired," when my understanding is that that was not the case at all. Although I often disagree with you strongly, I've never thought of you as someone who tends to provide false information.
